My Bio
I am the author of historical novels set in the ancient Mycenaean period. I enjoy doing reproduction paintings of Minoan and Mycenaean frescoes, as well as one inch scale dolls. These artistic endeavors help me to get into the minds of the ancient Minoans and Mycenaeans in terms of understanding how they thought about religion and how their clothing was put together.
Trying out new techniques for my first ever digital artwork. I've always wanted to do a reboot image of the title character from the 1981 cartoon Blackstar. Yes, I gave John actual clothing, a different eye color, and more importantly, a functional Starsword that he won't impale himself on.

Joseph was a stray who briefly visited in the spring of 2013.  Affectionate, boisterous, and eager to have a loving home and cat friends, he was a charmer.  Unfortunately, adopting him would have placed undue stress on Molly and Ru, so after trying to locate his human family without success, I surrendered him to a local no-kill shelter.  I really hope that he found a forever home.  Sometimes I still think about him.  Never has a local stray wanted more to love and be loved. No, I am not crying.  That's just something in my eye.

My collection of cats I've had over the years includes some strays that have I fed or who have occasionally passed through.  These two lovely black TNR males are brothers Patch and Scratch; the tabby is their little half-sister Baby Kat.  The one sibling I don't have a picture to work from is another male, the sweet but intensely shy Sniff. I wasn't happy with the original quilt image I did of Patch, as it was based on a photograph taken in his last days.  Highlights and shadows are hard to do on a black cat, but I think this combination of light plum and charcoal on black works well.
